Beauty and the Beast Level I Freebie Video Lesson: Paragraph House Outline of One Character
In this video, I teach a lesson from Beauty and the Beast, Level I. (Print your book from here.) This is for first through fourth graders. It is a one paragraph project (Extension/Advanced Students: two paragraphs) from outlining to writing to revising to final copy. It is broken down into “three lessons/three days” of video content with homework assignments in between. If a parent/teacher can watch the first day’s video with the student and help him get accustomed to highlighting and sticky-noting his homework, that will be helpful. Near the end of the video, the student is introduced to the Checklist Challenge for revising/editing their paragraph(s). Please do the free How to Checklist Challenge book/video set for further help with this. Complete book and video lessons are available at learnforamonthstore.com/
Mowli Level II Freebie Video Lesson: Using Writing Boxes
Welcome to another free writing lesson and teaching video! This one, for upper elementary students, is from the monthly writing book called Write On, Mowgli! Level I. This one week lesson is called Jungle Book Writing Boxes. Your student will work on creating sentences from given material, adding descriptive elements to their sentences, and then putting those sentences together into amazing paragraphs. The video teaching is broken down into three lessons of approximately 30 minutes each to be spread out over a week. The Writing Boxes, which are included in many of the Write On and Write for a Month Levels I and II books, are tremendous tools for helping students write from a source in their own words and use describers to make sentences more interesting. Then, they take learning one step further as students put all of their created sentences together into paragraphs. Fun lessons and fun topics. Win-win!

One of the ways that we can make things special for our kids—that we can let them know that we are thinking of them and that we want to know what they like, what makes them tick, and how to “surprise” and bless them is by doing a Kids Fave inventory. This sheet has a list of common “faves” that you might want to discover with your kids—favorite gum, favorite video, favorite fast food snack, favorite fruit, and more.
It is to be used to:
(1) find out your kids’ faves;
(2) help you with Christmas and birthday shopping; and
(3) use as a family to encourage family unity.
Once you have the inventory filled in, keep it in a safe place and use it to surprise your amazing kids!
Baby Shark Swims, the pre-school reader, is absolutely darling—and can be read by even your nonreading preschooler and kindergartener thanks to the extensive rebus images above the words! It is colorful and inviting and only contains twenty unique words (used repeatedly in the story since repetition is crucial in learning sight words). It contains under 100 total words and introduces Baby, Mommy, Daddy, Grandma, and Grandpa in a colorful, watery world.
Kids Can’t Get Enough Baby Shark
Your child can color several scenes from our first level Baby Shark reader, as well as help Baby Shark solve puzzles. This free download should keep them busy for hours.
We apologize in advance for all the humming and singing that will commence while they work through this activity book. We know how easy it is for the Baby Shark song to get stuck in your head.
Baby Shark. Doo. Doo. Doo. Doo. Doo.
This book, Sound It Out, Mowgli, is the second book in the series called Sound It Out! Readers. The Sound It Out books are dual readers.
Each book contains two portions of text for each two-page spread/picture. One text is written at a new reader level. On the opposite page there is text written at an upper level (that an older student can read or that a parent/teacher can read to a younger child). These readers literally grow with your child’s reading skills!
Sound It Out, Mowgli is a reader and a story book in one whimsical book and is based on the lovable character from The Jungle Book. The student text is vocabulary-controlled for new readers to be able to read silently or orally.
The pictures are delightful, and the text is engaging for children of all ages.
The Color and Read, Mowgli! book is a reader, coloring book, and story book all in one! This coloring book, just like the Sound It Out! readers, has dual text. This means that one text on each page is written at one level (the reader’s level), and the other text is written at a higher level. This reader/coloring book can grow with your child from non-reader to emerging reader to advanced reader. (Or the parent can read the advanced text to the child.)
Color and Read, Mowgli! is much more than a coloring book! The whimsical, detailed pictures will definitely delight young artists!
This Language Lady product gives your students four helpful ways to practice their spelling words–three traditional methods and one “secret” method! These methods work for students of all ages, but are especially effective for second through eighth grade students who are able to self monitor their progress (which this packet will help them learn to do even more!).
The Age-Appropriate Chores poster pack is, as its name suggests, a set of posters detailing chores that are appropriate at different ages—toddlers, preschoolers, pre k and kindergarten, elementary, and tweens. This packet, including its lengthy forward/how to section, is 35 pages long with each poster clearly labeled and colorfully detailed.
In addition to a poster or two for each age’s appropriate chores, this pack also has a poster detailing a list of chores that are appropriate for each age child to do with someone else—before the child is ready to take certain chores on himself.

And I have just the list for this time! My Toddler and Preschool Activities list. It goes a long way in providing educational, focusing, fun, and boredom busting times for these sweet littles.
